Eleanor began her career as a professional artist 20 years ago living in Ontario. Her love of art began very early, and she has always expressed an interest in learning as well as making art. Eleanor studied fine arts at the University of Western Ontario, and continued her studies in art and watercolour at the Ontario College of Art, the Alberta College of Art and through various workshops to broaden her scope. In 1994 she joined the Toronto Watercolour Society . She became a signature member of the TWS and also volunteered as their publicity chairman until December 1999. Eleanor and her family have made Calgary their home for the last 10 years. A large part of her learning comes through teaching art . She has taught the drawing class at the University of Calgary, Certificate Program and teaches “Courageous Watercolour” and acrylic painting classes at various venues in Calgary and Alberta. She has been teaching weekly classes as well as one day workshops at the Calgary School of Art in watercolour and acrylic. Most recently she has announced her new DVD “Courageous Watercolour”. Eleanor paints in both acrylic and watercolor. Her love of painting is expressed through her bold and beautiful color palette. The fall color in Ontario is a big inspiration her, and she often travels to the east to photograph and paint. Her work can be seen at Koyman Galleries in Ottawa, ON, Canvas Gallery in Toronto, Big Bay Point Gallery in Innisfil, ON, Gibson Fine Art inCalgary, AB, Bluerock Gallery in Black Diamond, AB, and Elevation Gallery in Canmore, AB. I received the Watercolour DVD in the mail on Friday, and got a chance to watch most of it yesterday. Congratulations – – you did an awesome job – I love it” Doris. S.!
“Loved your video! I think you did a very effective demo on many levels. The painting was absolutely stunning to boot, which is a tough thing with demos”. best, Teri
“Hello, I bought your DVD this weekend and truly enjoyed learning from you. I have been a watercolorist for over 25 years. I was speaking this morning with an art masters student at Uquam and she was very excited about using the wax medium (as demonstrated in your video) on a watercolour. (It is amazing how) far reaching your market is.” Manon
“Hi Eleanor I just purchased your watercolour DVD and loved your painting and painting technique. “
“Hi. I have always loved your work and have just finished watching your new DVD. Your technique for applying the paint to paper produces such beautiful vibrant results it is awe-inspiring. I can hardly wait until Sunday when I am going to try it out. The idea of finishing your painting by waxing instead of framing under glass is truly a life saver. You have a very gentle and encouraging way of teaching. This DVD – I just love it. Janet S.
